Applications are now open for the Autumn 2026 National Professional Qualifications (NPQs), delivered by the Alliance of Leading Learning, a core STEP partner. Designed to support teachers and leaders at every stage of their career, NPQs combine national expertise with local delivery, helping professionals develop the knowledge, skills and confidence needed to make a lasting impact in their schools.

Whether aspiring to senior leadership, preparing for headship, leading specialist areas of practice or developing expertise in teaching and learning, there is a programme to support your next career step.

Funding Opportunities

Several NPQ programmes are currently fully funded, including:

  • NPQ Headship (NPQH)
  • NPQ Senior Leadership (NPQSL)
  • NPQ for SENCOs
  • NPQ Early Years Leadership (NPQEYL)

Funding may also be available for NPQEL, NPQLBC, NPQLTD and NPQLT, subject to eligibility criteria.
